Sagehens Fall To No. 3 UCLA At Barbara Kalbus Invitational

IRVINE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Water Polo team fell 14-3 against the No. 3 ranked UCLA Bruins In the Barbara Kalbus Invitational on Friday afternoon.
 
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 2-3 overall.
 
The Sagehens had three separate goal scores as Kaylee Stigar, Brienz Lang and Natalie Sullivan Wu all found the back of the net against the Bruins in the loss.
 
 
UCLA started strong, scoring four goals in the first period as the Sagehen offense was shut out in the first half.   UCLA went on to score three more goals in the second and went into halftime with a 7-0 lead.
 
The Bruins continued their same offensive pace in the third with four more goal to extend their lead to 10-0, but the Sagehens ended strong with all three of their goals in the fourth to match UCLA's goal total in the final period to end game one of the Barbara Kalbus Invitational.
 
Up Next: The Sagehens will continue the Barbara Kalbus Invitational with a game on Saturday February 22nd at 12:00 p.m. against a team to be determined.
