CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Lacrosse team opened their 2025 season with a big 22-2 win over SCIAC opponent Redlands on Wednesday night at Merritt Field.
The Sagehens netted 22 goals in their opening game of the season led by
Fiona Lewis who scored five.
Sydney Landauer scored four while
Caili Cross also netted a hat-trick with three.
Hannah Gough and
Madelyn Katz had two while
Maria Favret,
Grace Tighe,
Joella Linder,
Taylor Glanville,
Shoshi Henderson and
Ella Bradley all chipped in with one each.
Complete domination for the Sagehens from start to finish as they outshot Redlands 40-6 and forced the Bulldogs into 22 turnovers. Pomona-Pitzer shut out Redlands. For the entire first half and goals from Lewis, Landauer and Cross put the Sagehens up 5-0 after the first.
Pomona-Pitzer kept the goals coming in the second quarter from Glanville, Landauer, Gough, Henderson, and Katz to take a commanding 13-0 lead heading into halftime.
The Sagehen defense kept the shutout through the third and led 17-0 after goals from Cross, Gough, and Lewis and Redlands finally got their first goal of the game in the fourth while the Sagehens ended the game with goals from Bradley, Tighe, Linder, and Katz to open their 2025 with a SCIAC win.
