CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Basketball team came away with a 93-40 win over SCIAC opponent Caltech on Wednesday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improved to 13-9 overall and 7-6 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were led by
Peyton Mullarkey who went for 20 points shooting 6-8 from beyond the arc.
Ty Bergman had 18 while
Joe Cookson had 17 as the Sagehens glided to a big win on senior night.
The Sagehens dominated from start to finish in their final home game of the regular season with a 10-0 run to start the first half that escalated to a 21-4 start with 13:37 to play until halftime. The Sagehen defense was exceptional in the first half after they held the Beavers to just 255 from the floor and just 18 points. Pomona-Pitzer shot just over 52% in the first half and went into halftime with a commanding 49-18.
The Sagehens continued their dominant play in the second half going up by 40 at 64-24 midway through the second half. With the game well in hand, the Sagehens were able to send their seniors off with a big win over Caltech on senior night.
