CLAREMONT, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer Team earned a 2-1 win in their Senior Day game against Redlands on Saturday. With the win, the Sagehens are the 2025 Regular Season SCIAC Champions for the 7th year in a row.
Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens continue their season 13-0-3 overall and 8-0-3 in SCIAC play.
Pomona-Pitzer started the first half well. The Sagehens found an early lead when midfielder Sabina Peterson Rajalingam secured the first goal of the game in the first 30 seconds. Pomona-Pitzer pushed to further their lead early on with shots from Anjali Nuggehalli and Anya Offenbacher-Jones at the 4' and 7' minute marks, but they were both stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. Later, Hannah Hong, Peterson Rajalingam, and Ava Watanabe made more attempts at the Redlands goal at the 19', 21', and 23' minute marks, but were again stopped by the opposing defenses. The Sagehen goalkeeper Hadley Johnson made key saves at the 28' and 32' minute marks. Pomona-Pitzer entered halftime in the lead, 1-0.
The Sagehens widened their lead with a goal at the 51' minute mark scored by Kendrick Dahlin off of an assist from Imogen Roy Jenkyn that set the Sagehens ahead 2-0. However, Redlands responded by breaking through the Pomona-Pitzer defenses and scoring their first goal of the game in an effort to catch up. Still, the Sagehens kept their composure and pushed back against the opposing defenses. The Sagehens maintained their lead and secured their 2-1 victory over Redlands.
