Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Inouye and Ulrich Lift Sagehens Past Caltech, 2–0

CLAREMONT, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer men's soccer team earned a 2–0 victory over Caltech on Saturday to close out the SCIAC regular season.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improve to 10–4–3 overall and 6–4–2 in SCIAC play.

Pomona-Pitzer dictated the match from the opening whistle, applying steady pressure and creating several first-half chances. In the 33rd minute, the Sagehens broke through when Elias Inouye finished off a setup from Khalab Blagburn, putting the Sagehens up 1–0 heading into halftime.

The Sagehens continued to dominate in the second half, maintaining control of the midfield and generating consistent scoring opportunities. Aidan MacLennan and Alex Greenstein both tested the Caltech keeper early in the period, before Niclas Ulrich doubled the lead in the 58th minute, converting a pass from Inouye to make it 2–0.

Defensively, goalkeeper Jasper Broad was sharp all afternoon, recording multiple saves to preserve the clean sheet. The back line, anchored by Chris ChowTownes Richardson, and Blagburn, stayed composed and organized, keeping Caltech's offense contained and limiting them to low-quality shots..

Up Next: The Sagehens advance to the SCIAC post-season tournament as they will play on Thursday. The time, location and opponent is TBD.
