Sagehens Secure 3-0 Shutout Win Over Caltech

PASADENA, CA – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer Team secured a shutout victory over Caltech with a 3-0 win on Saturday morning.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens continue their season strong 11-0-2 overall and 7-0-2 in SCIAC play.

The Sagehens pushed against the Caltech defenses and created several opportunities to score. Notably, Brooke Bailey, and Hannah Hong each attempted to break through the opposing defenses at the 23' and 28' minute marks but were each stopped by the opposing goalkeeper. Vivian Rojas Collins and Tara Kamshad also attempted to score at the 28' and 35' minute marks but were also blocked by the Caltech defenses. Throughout the first half, the Sagehens were unable to establish their lead and entered halftime in a competitive stalemate with Caltech 0-0.

Pomona-Pitzer continued to bring the heat into the second half. Kendrick Dahlin secured the first goal of the game at the 46' minute mark to bring the Sagehens ahead 1-0. Pomona-Pitzer continued to break through the opposing defenses with Hannah Hong scoring at the 67' minute mark off of an assist from Brooke Bailey. Anjali Nuggehalli helped further the lead with another goal at the 76' minute mark to bring the Sagehens to a  3-0 lead over Caltech. The Sagehens maintained the lead and defeated Caltech with a 3-0 win.
