CLAREMONT, CA. - The Sagehens fell on the road to CMS 2-0 in the Sixth Street Rivalry game.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens drop to 8-3-3 overall and 4-3-2 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens battled through a physical first half that saw limited chances on both sides. In the 12th minute, Alex Greenstein forced an early save from the CMS goalkeeper. Goalkeeper Jasper Broad was sharp in the opening 45 minutes, making four key stops to keep the game scoreless heading into halftime.
In the 59th minute, CMS broke through with a goal to take a 1-0 lead. The Sagehens responded with heavy attacking pressure, earning multiple corners between the 73rd and 81st minutes. Pomona-Pitzer saw looks from Greenstein, Aidan MacLennan, Kieran Veloria, and Charles Leonard but all were denied by the keeper. Despite the offensive push, the Stags doubled their lead in the 82nd minute to seal the match.
