ORANGE, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Soccer team fell to SCIAC opponent Chapman 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 2-4-2 overall and 1-3 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were held scoreless in a low offense game that only saw sevens hots from the Sagehens with three on target while Chapman was held to eight shots with five on frame.
Chapman got out to a lead in the 28
th minute after a back-and-forth match in the first half. The Panthers were able to break through for one of the only big chances of the half and a shot from off the right wing found the side net to give Chapman a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
After giving up the lead and playing from behind, the Sagehens had to get more players forward to try to find an equalizer. Chapman packed the box in the second half to preserve their 1-0 lead and were able to add a second to put the game to rest in the 78
th minute as the Sagehens are still in search for their first SCIAC win of the season.
