LA VERNE, CA. – The No. 6 Pomona-Pitzer Baseball team fell in their doubleheader top No. 12 La Verne 12-1 and 11-6 on Saturday afternoon at Ben Hines Field.
Season Impact: With the losses, the Sagehens drop their first series of the season and drop to 23-8 overall and 11-4 in SCIAC play.

The Sagehens were led by
Greg Pierantoni who went 1-3 with an RBI.
William Kinney also earned a hit for the Sagehens in the loss.
Hannoh Seo got the start and suffered his first loss of the season with 3.1 innings five hits, six runs, and three strikeouts.
Eric Prough,
William Wallace, and
Jake Albro came in relief roles for the Sagehens as well.
Pomona-Pitzer got on the board in their first at-bats as Pierantoni drove home
JC Ng with an RBI single to put the Sagehens up 1-0 early.
The wheels fell off for the Sagehens in the bottom of the fourth after La Verne plated nine runs in the inning off of six hits and two errors.
Pomona-Pitzer's bats went quiet after the first inning as they only came away with two hits in the first game of the doubleheader as La Verne evened the series at 1-1.

The Sagehens were led by Kinney and Kim in game two as they each had two hits in the loss. Ng,
Nate Jakobs,
Jackson Fleming, and Nahabedian had one hit each as well.
Ethan Collins got the start and went one inning with three runs surrendered while
Harry Deliyannis came in and earned the loss with five innings, three runs off three hits, and three strikeouts.
Jack Wiessinger,
Eric Prough, and
Wade Lawson came in as well for the Sagehens out of the bullpen.
La Verne jumped ahead of the Sagehens in the rubber game with a three-run first inning off a sacrifice fly, a wild pitch, and a bloop single RBI to play from in front 3-0.
Pomona-Pitzer came back and took the lead in their next at-bats with four runs in the inning. Nahabedian singled home the first run of the game for the Sagehens while Kinney followed with two RBIs to tie the game at 3-3. The Sagehens added their go-ahead run via a bases-loaded walk by Kim to take the lead over La Verne, 4-3.
The Sagehens gifted La Verne the tie after a double and an error put a runner on third that came around and scored on a passed ball to tie the game at 4-4. Pomona-Pitzer took the lead again in the top of the fifth as Fleming singled home
Jack Gold to take back a one-run lead at 5-4, but it was short-lived as the Leopards brought two runs home in the sixth to reclaim the lead at 6-5 heading into the seventh inning.
La Verne added to its lead in the seventh with five more runs in the bottom half of the inning as the Sagehens fell in back-to-back games for the first time this season.
