CLAREMONT, Ca. – The Pomona-Pitzer lacrosse earned a dominant 20-1 victory over the Redlands Bulldogs in a rainy midweek SCIAC contest, improving to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in conference play. The Sagehens shared the wealth offensively with 14 different goal scorers with
Fiona Lewis striking four times while
Sydney Landauer had two goals with four assists.
Chloe Denhart and
Katherine Lin both recorded two goals in the contest as well.
Grace Warner and
Shoshi Henderson each earned six ground balls while
Carly Sullivan had three of her own with three caused turnovers.
River Buechner led the Sagehens with five draw controls with
Hannah Gough earning three. Overall, the Sagehens outshot the Bulldogs 45-6 with
Ruby Loesch making two saves while allowing just one goal in the victory. Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action on Saturday, March 9th when they host the Whittier Poets at 7:00 p.m.
How It Happened
The Sagehens and Bulldogs played a hard fought opening few minutes in the pouring rain with Pomona-Pitzer scoring just over three minutes in off the stick of
Fiona Lewis. Lewis picked up a first quarter hat trick with her second goal with 4:31 on the clock before earning the third goal of the game just a minute later.
Chloe Denhart and
Taylor Glanville both found the back of the net before the first quarter buzzer to put the Sagehens up 5-0 heading into the second quarter.
Redlands was able to score their lone goal in the contest just short of four minutes into the second quarter but from there, the Sagehens took control and never looked back. Pomona-Pitzer added six more goals in the half with
Caroline Welch,
Chloe Denhart,
Sydney Landauer,
Fiona Lewis, and
Grace Warner all contributing to the attack to make it 11-1 at the halftime break.
The Sagehens scored nine more goals in the contest, pouring it on in the rainy conditions to make their way to the 20-goal mark. Ella Bradly,

Hannah Gough all found the net in the third quarter while
Regan Schunk,
Audrey Jacklyn,
Maren Wydra, and
Grace Tighe all scored in the fourth with Jacklyn and Wydra scoring their first career goals to cap off the 20-1 victory.
