How It Happened
The Sagehens got off to a fast start, scoring five goals in the opening five minutes of play with Fiona Lewis, Hannah Gough, Sydney Landauer, and Grace Warner all finding the back of the net. The Athenas were able to hold the Sagehens scoreless for the rest of the first quarter while adding in a goal of their own with 5:37 left in the quarter to make it 5-1 heading into the second.

With rain picking up on a cold and gloomy Southern California day, the Sagehens fought to earn slight 3-2 edge in goals in the second quarter with Lewis and Warner doing the scoring to make it 8-3 heading into the halftime break. The Athenas struck first out of the halftime break but Grace Warner, Sydney Landauer, and Fiona Lewis all struck the back of the net to increase the Sagehens lead to 11-4. The Athenas were able to score three-straight to cut the Sagehen lead to 11-7 with 12:48 remaining in the fourth but Pomona-Pitzer responded with another 3-0 run with goals from River Buechner, Hannah Gough, and Fiona Lewis to make it 14-7. CMS managed to net three more goals with Lewis scoring one more for the Sagehens to seal the 15-10 rivalry victory for Pomona-Pitzer.
