Sagehens Bounce Back With 3-0 Win At Redlands

REDLANDS, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Soccer team got back to their winning ways with a 3-0 road win over SCIAC opponent Redlands on Wednesday night at Farquhar Field.

Season Impact: With the win, the Sagehens improved to 7-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in SCIAC play.

The offense was working well for the Sagehens tonight led by Ella Endo who netted a brace with two goals in the win. Melanie Ng had a goal and an assist to her name while Isla Burch and Hannah Hong also had assists as well.  Patricia DePalma had another good night in goal as she earned the win and came away with her seventh shutout of the year.

Pomona-Pitzer got the offense going early in the game with two goals in the first eight minutes of the match. Endo got on the board after she scored a tap-in curtesy of a beautiful cross by Burch to get the Sagehens off to a 1-0 lead.

The Sagehens followed with a goal just over a minute later off of a corner as Hong played in a corner that was struck first time by Ng who was crashing into the box to put the Sagehens up 2-0 in the eighth minute of the match.

Pomona-Pitzer continued to dominate on offense in the first half with their third goal of the first 45 minutes as Endo earned her brace with a break away off of a long ball from Ng to give the Sagehens a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

The Sagehens still dominated possession in the second half and continued to press on offense firing off seven shots in the second half while the Bulldogs tried to get back into the game with six shots of their own.

After building a comfortable three goal lead in the first half, the Sagehens were able to sit back and cruise to a road SCIAC victory to get back in the win column in conference play.

Up Next: The Sagehens will next host the Sixth Street Rivalry against CMS on Saturday, October 5th at 11:00 a.m.
