CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to SCIAC foe Redlands 5-4 on Saturday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 9-12 overall and 3-2 in SCIAC play.
The Sagehens were only able to grab one doubles point after Redlands took #1 and #2 matches against the Sagehens. Ethan Lee and Neil Chulani earned a point for Pomona-Pitzer at the #3 doubles spot after they didn't drop a single game to take an 8-0 win.
Pomona-Pitzer had work to do in the singles matches and started out with a win at #1 singles as Mukund Madabhushi earned a tight 6-2, 7-6 win. Ethan Lee followed with a win at #3 singles with scores of 6-4, 6-4 while Rohun Krishnan edged out a tough 6-4, 7-6 win to even the score at 4-4.
The match came down to one singles match at the #2 position between Stefan Hester and Kush Patel. Patel earned a win in the first set 6-4, but fell in the tiebreaker in set two 7-5 and couldn't rally in the third set and fell to his opponent 6-4 as the Bulldogs walk away with the win at Pauley.
