CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis took down No. 10 Gustavus Adolphus 6-3 on Wednesday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: with the win, the Sagehens won their second-straight contest and improve to 9-11 overall.
Pomona-Pitzer got out to a 2-1 advantage winning two of the three doubles matches to start the day. The Sagehens suffered a loss at the #1 doubles with Hayden Snyder and Kush Patel falling 8-5 but took wins at #2 and #3 spots. Mukund Madabhushi and Matthew Feng earned the Sagehens an 8-2 win while Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee came away with an 8-3 victory to put the Sagehens three matches away from a win.
Madabhushi doubled up on his wins as he made quick work of his singles opponent with a 6-1, 6-1 win. Patel also came away with a win at the #3 singles spot with a big 6-1 win in the first set and held off his opponent in a tiebreaker 7-6 to earn the win.
Ethan Lee and Matthew Feng also earned singles wins for the Sagehens as Lee took a 6-4, 6-4 win at the #4 spot while Feng earned a 7-5, 6-3 win at #5 as Pomona-Pitzer earned a big win over a top-10 opponent.
