CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to Williams College 6-3 on Friday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 7-10 overall.
Pomona-Pitzer dropped two of the three doubles matches to start against Williams to get behind early. #3 doubles continued to perform well for the Sagehens as Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee earned an 8-3 victory for the sole point of doubles play. Hayden Snyder and Mukund Madabhushi fell at #1 doubles 8-3 and Matthew Feng and Eshaan Lumba battled at the #2 spot but ultimately fell 8-7.
The Sagehens did manage to pull out two singles wins against Williams. Lee doubled up his wins for the day with a 6-4, 6-4 win at the #4 spot and Snyder dug out a three-set win over Andrew Cohen of Williams, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1.
Madabhushi dropped his singles match at #2 by the score of 6-3, 6-1 while Kush Patel lost at #3 singles 6-1, 6-4. Pomona-Pitzer went on to lose the final two matches at the #5 and #6 positions after Feng was defeated 7-6, 6-3 and Chulani lost his match 6-3, 6-3.
