CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to Middlebury 8-1 on Monday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 7-8 overall.
The Sagehens got their only win of the match at the #2 doubles position. Matthew Feng and Eshaan Lumba had a dominant performance with an 8-1 win over Epstein and Ward of Middlebury. The Sagehens would go on to lose the final two doubles matches as Hayden Snyder and Mukund Madabhushi fell 8-4 and Neil Chulani and Ethan Lee lost a tight match, 8-6.
Pomona-Pitzer went on to drop all six singles matches against the Panthers. Snyder fell at #1 singles, 6-1, 6-4 while Madabhushi lost at #2 6-4, 6-2. Kush Patel was the only Sagehen to go three sets as he lost by a retirement while Lee dropped his singles match at #4, 7-5, 6-4.
The final two matches of the day didn't go the Sagehens' way either as Lumba lost his match at the #5 position 7-6, 6-1 and Feng fell at #6 singles 6-1, 6-2.
