A rollercoaster of emotions in the last home game of the season as the Sagehens and Beavers met for the second time this season. The game had three lead changes, 25 total fouls, seven goals, and seven yellow cards.
The Sagehens would take the lead early on in the contest as MacLennan found Namdar around the box and a left-footed effort beat the keeper to give the Sagehens a 1-0 lead in the 13
th minute.
However, the Beavers scored just before halftime and just out of halftime to take their first lead of the game. Caltech first scored off of a crossed-in header to tie the game at 1-1 and then took the lead after a first-time touch trickled over the line to give the Beavers the lead early in the second half.
Pomona-Pitzer scored their final four goals in the last 12 minutes of the match. Greenstein took advantage of a defensive turnover by Caltech and poked in the equalizer in the 79
th minute.
After drawing the game level at 2-2, the seniors took over for the Sagehens. Lau drew a penalty for Pomona-Pitzer just moments later as Khoshzaban took the ball to the spot for the PK chance. Khoshzaban converted the PK for his first career goal to give the Sagehens a 3-2 lead.
Minutes later it was Donovan who gave the Sagehens a cushion after he crushed a deep free kick into the back of the net to give the Sagehens a 4-2 lead.
The final goal of the night belonged to the final senior,
Brendan Kish. After the Sagehens broke down the field, Lau played in a beautiful cross that Kish took first time for his first career goal to cap off a memorable senior day for the Sagehens.
