ORANGE, CA. – The No. 10 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team defeated SCIAC opponent Chapman 7-2 on Friday afternoon at the Anderson Tennis Center.
Season Impact: with the win, the Sagehens improve to 11-8 and 3-0 in conference play.
The Sagehens swept doubles against the Panthers to get out t a big 3-0 lead heading into singles play. Mukund Madabhushi and Hayden Snyder got the Sagehens out to a lead with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles while Ethan Lee and Matthew Feng also won by the score of 8-4 at No. 3 doubles. The Sagehens ended doubles with a close battle at No. 2 with the team of Eshaan Lumba and Nils Skattum earning an 8-6 victory.
After taking a commanding 3-0 lead out of doubles, the Sagehens won singles 1-4 against Chapman. Snyder doubled up on his wins for the day with a 6-4, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles while Madabhushi followed with a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 2.
The Sagehens ended their wins with victories at No. 3 singles as Lee defeated his opponent 6-4, 6-3 and Feng capped off the match with a win at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2.
