CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 10 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to No. 5 CMS 7-2 on Saturday night at the Biszantz Family Center.
Season Impact: with the loss, the Sagehens fall to 13-9 overall and suffer their first loss in conference play to move to 5-1.
The Sagehens did well during the doubles competition against CMS as they started out with a lead taking two of the three matches. Nils Skattum and Mukund Madabhushi dominated in their No. 3 doubles match as they came away with an 8-2 win while the No. 1 doubles team of Owen Kelley and Jansen Comadena battled their way to a big tiebreaker win 8-7 (9-7).
Although the Sagehens left doubles with a 2-1 lead, Pomona-Pitzer couldn't carry their momentum into the singles competition as CMS took all six matches to comeback for the win.
