CLAREMONT, CA. – The No. 19 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell 6-3 against Middlebury on Wednesday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Courts.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 7-6 overall.
The Sagehens started out on top with wins at two of the three doubles matches to take a 2-1 lead. Pomona-Pitzer took wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Starting off the wins was the team of Charlie Stark and Hayden Snyder who defeated their opponents 8-5. The Sagehens added one more point to their total at No. 1 doubles with the team of Jansen Comadena and Owen Kelley winning a tiebreaker, 8-7.
After winning two of the three doubles matches against the Panthers, the Sagehens would only add one more win at No. 2 singles. Charlie Stark doubled his wins for the day after he took down his opponent by the scores of 6-3 and 7-5. Pomona-Pitzer went on to lose three matches in the third set as Mukund Madabhushi fell at No. 2 singles 7-5, 5-7, 6-2, Kush Patel fell at No. 4 singles 7-5, 6-7, 7-6 and Comadena fell at No. 5 singles 2-6, 6-1, 7-6.
