SAN DIEGO, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team went 0-2 in their San Diego trip with an 5-1 loss to San Diego Christian and an 8-1 loss to San Diego State on Saturday.
Season Impact: With the losses, the Sagehens fall to 2-2 on the year.
Pomona-Pitzer 1, San Diego Christian 5
The Sagehens stated out the day dropping two of the three doubles against San Diego Christian. Jansen Comadena and Owen Kelley dropped No. 1 doubles 6-2 while Jack Weiler and Matthew Feng took a 6-2 loss at No. 3 doubles. The Sagehens got their only win of the day at No. 2 doubles as Ethan Lee and Hayden Snyder won 6-3.
The Sagehens went on to lose the first three singles matches that ended the match. Mukund Madabhushi lost in straight sets at No. 1 singles 6-0,6-0 while Stark lost at No. 2 6-2, 6-2. Kush Patel went on to lose his singles match at No. 3 singles 7-5, 6-1 as the rest of the matches were retired after San Diego Christian took the 5-1 win.
Pomona-Pitzer 1, San Diego State 8
The Sagehens dropped all three doubles matches against San Diego State. The Sagehens fell at No. 1 doubles with the team of Jansen Comadena and Owen Kelley falling 6-0 and then fell at No. 2 doubles with Madabhushi and Stark losing 6-2.
The Sagehens went on to get one win at No. 2 singles as Madabhushi earned a 6-3, 2-1 win. The Sagehens went on to drop the remaining five matches against San Diego State. Snyder fell at No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0, Stark dropped his match at No. 2 singles 6-4, 6-2 and Patel fell at No. 3 6-3, 6-2. The Sagehens fell in the final two singles matches at No. 5 and No. 6 as Comadena lost 6-2, 6-4 and Kelley lost 6-1, 6-2 to end the day for the Sagehens in the loss.
