CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Sagehens picked up a pair of victories today, defeating Washington and Lee 8-1 and Cal Lutheran 9-0.
Washington and Lee Doubles
Avery Bicks and Charlie Stark lost a tight 8-7 match, but Jed Kronenberg and Hayden Snyder picked up an 8-4 victory, as did Mukund Madabhushi and Nils Skattum.
Washington and Lee Singles
The Sagehens swept singles play starting off with Jed Kronenberg's 6-2, 6-2 victory. Charlie Stark picked up a 6-3 win in set one and a 6-0 set two. Mukund Madabhushi earned back to back 6-0 victories to win his match. Hayden Synder won 6-1 and 6-3 to win No. 4 singles. Avery Bicks won his match 6-3, 6-2 and Quinn Hirsohn ended his match with a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
Cal Lutheran Doubles
Charlie Stark and Avery Bicks opened up the Cal Lutheran match with an 8-4 victory. Hayden Synder and Jed Kronenberg picked up an 8-2 victory in their match as did Mukund Madabhushi and Nils Skattum.
Cal Lutheran Singles
Mukund Madabhushi picked up 7-5, 6-2 victories to take his match. Charlie Stark won his first set 6-1 but dropped set two 6-4. Stark battled back to take the match 10-8. Hayden Synder earned a 6-1 victory in his first set and 6-0 victory in his second set. Jack Weilex picked up a 6-0, 6-1 victory in his match. Quinn Hirsohn followed in pursuit and won 6-0 and 6-1 to take his match. Jack Bernstein ended the day with a 6-1, 6-1 victory to cap off the Sagehens' 9-0 victory over Cal Lutheran.
