CLAREMONT, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to non-conference opponent Azusa Pacific 5-0 to start its 2020 regular season on Saturday morning at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: With the loss, the Sagehens open the year at 0-1 overall.
The Sagehens started out dropping all three of the doubles matches against Azusa. Pomona-Pitzer started out the match with a loss at the No. 2 doubles as Jansen Comadena and Mukund Madabushi fell 6-1 in the opening match. The Sagehens lost a hard fought battle at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles with the team of Avery Bicks and Charlie Stark falling at the No. 1 spot, 6-4 and Jed Kronenberg and Nils Skattum falling at No. 3, 7-6.
The Sagehens went on to lose the first two singles matches ending the match at 5-0.
Pomona-Pitzer started singles with a loss at the No. 3 match as Comadena fell 6-3, 6-0 and then went on to drop the No. 2 match as Stark fell in his singles match 6-4, 6-3.
