REDLANDS, CA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Men's Swim and Dive Team pulled out a convincing dual meet victory over the University of Redlands on Saturday afternoon, defeating the Bulldogs 146-92. Out of the 13 events they competed in, the Sagehens took the top position in 10 of the events.
Bilguun Altantulkhuur took the top position in the 1-meter diving, scoring 288.15 and later scored 247.00 in the 3-meter for a third place finish.
The Sagehens took first place in the 400 Yard Medley Relay, as the C Team featuring Nick Borowsky, Kyle Allison, Ryan Drover, and Spencer Satz combined to finish at 3:41.39. The Sagehens' B Team with Peter Hansen, Conner Wells, Greg Havton, and Nick Lewis, finished right behind in second at 3:41.75.
Will Abele competed in the 200 Freestyle and locked up first place at 1:44.15, but his teammate Jack Swanson was a close second at 1:44.88. Zachary Senator took third at 1:46.22. In the 50 Freestyle, Adrian Hui finished first at 21.87 and Nick Borowsky took fourth at 22.04.
Liam O'Shea came out on top in the 400 Individual Medley, clocking in at 4:11.68, and Samuel To took first place in the 200 Butterfly at 1:56.47. Freshman Greg Havton followed closely behind To in the 200 Butterfly, taking second at 1:57.36. In the 200 Backstroke, Nikhil Kundu continued his strong freshman campaign with a top finish at 1:55.92, more than seconds ahead of second-place finisher Erik Garcia (1:59.20).
In the 500 Freestyle, Mark Hallman came through in first place at 4:40.66. The top finishers in prior races impressed in the same event as O'Shea followed in second at 4:43.06 while Abele took third at 4:45.23. Nathan Hahn proceeded to finish on top in the 200 Breaststroke at 2:09.06 while To once again appeared on the leaderboard with a second place finish at 2:11.27.
To close out the afternoon, the Sagehens were victorious in the 400 Freestyle Relay as the A Team featuring Hui, Drover, Abele, and Hallman, clocked in at 3:13.82.
