REDLANDS, Calif. – The No. 10 ranked Pomona-Pitzer men's tennis team ended their regular season with a 6-3 win over No. 15 Redlands on Saturday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
The Sagehens started out the doubles competition with a 2-1 lead as they took two of the three doubles matches.
Pomona-Pitzer won the No. 2 doubles with the team of Jonathan Kim and Jake Yasgoor taking an 8-6 win and Josh Gearou and Sam Gearou won their match in the No. 3 singles by the score of 8-4.
The Sagehens went on to win four of the six singles matches as well. The first win for the Sagehens came in the No. 5 singles match as Spencer Simonides defeated his opponent 6-2, 6-2.
Josh Kim won his singles match in the No. 4 spot with a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory and Yasgoor followed that up with a win in the No. 2 singles by the score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-1.
Pomona-Pitzer ended the day with a win in the No. 1 singles match as Graham Maassen won his match by the score of 7-5, 2-6, 6-3.
Pomona-Pitzer ends the season with a 14-8 record overall record and a 6-1 record in SCIAC play. The Sagehens will go on to the SCIAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed with Claremont-Mudd-Scripps as the host site.
