CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 8 ranked Pomona-Pitzer men's tennis team fell to No. 3 Middlebury 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
The Sagehens started out with a 2-1 deficit as they fell in two of the three doubles matches to start out the day.
The lone win for the Sagehens came in the No. 2 doubles match as the team of junior Jake Yasgoor and senior Jonathan Kim took an 8-6 victory.
Pomona-Pitzer went on to win two of the six singles matches with both of their victories coming in three sets.
Kim went on to win his individual match as well as he defeated his opponent in the No. 3 singles by the score of 5-7, 7-6 (6), 10-7.
Freshman Josh Gearou got the final win of the day for Pomona-Pitzer in the No. 6 singles as he took a 6-4, 3-6, 10-8 win over his opponent.
The Sagehens next take the court as they travel to No. 3 ranked rival Claremont-Mudd-Scripps on Friday, April 1st at 3:00 p.m.
