CLAREMONT, Calif. – The No. 11 ranked Pomona-Pitzer men's tennis team fell to No. 4 Amherst 6-3 on Tuesday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis complex.
The Sagehens started out the match behind 2-1 as Amherst won two of the three doubles matches. The lone win for the Sagehens came from the team of Jake Yasgoor and Jonathan Kim as they defeated their opponents in the No. 2 doubles match by the score of 9-7.
Amherst also controlled the majority of the singles matches as well as they took four of the six matches.
The Sagehens first got a win in the No. 2 singles match as Graham Maassen took down his opponent with a 6-2, 6-1 victory.
Josh Gearou finished out the day for Pomona-Pitzer as he earned a tough win in the No. 6 singles match by the score of 6-7, 7-6, 10-4.
The Sagehens next take the court as they host Stevens on Tuesday, March 22nd at the Pauley Tennis Complex at 4:00 p.m.
