Claremont, Calif. - The No. 16 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team won tiebreakers at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles for a 2-1 lead, but No. 6 Trinity (Texas) won all four tiebreakers in singles to come back for a 5-4 win on Monday afternoon at Pauley Tennis Complex.
The loss was the first of the season for the Sagehens, who fall to 3-1 on the year after picking up wins over nationally ranked Bates and Mary Washington.
Junior Connor Hudson (pictured) hit a passing shot at 6-4 in the tiebreaker in doubles for the swing point to give Pomona-Pitzer a 2-1 lead going into singles (along with doubles partner Connor Sutton). Hudson then won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 3 singles to give the Sagehens a 3-2 lead after Jordan Mayer won at No. 5 for Trinity.
