Claremont, Calif. - The Pomona-Pitzer Women's Swimming team returned to Haldeman Pool and earned a 127-74 win over Lewis & Clark on Friday in its first meet since December 3.
The Sagehens tinkered with its usual line-up, as sophomore sprinter Alex Lincoln competed in the 500-yard freestyle and came in first place to add the victory to wins earlier this year in the 50, 100 and 200 free events.
After winning the medley relay by a wide margin, Vicky Gyorffy gave the Sagehens their first individual win with a victory in the 200-yard freestyle, coming just shy of cracking the 2:00 mark (2:00.96). After the Sagehens lost the 50 free, Nola Shi responded with a first-place finish in the 200 individual medley (2:18.06) to help Pomona-Pitzer extend its lead.
Lewis & Clark won the next two events, but Jackie Tran (pictured) helped give momentum back to the Sagehens with a big win in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:17.04. Lincoln then won the 500 free, and Sarah Tuggy followed with a win in the 200-yard breaststroke to seal the win for Pomona-Pitzer.
The Sagehens capped off the meet with a lopsided win in the freestyle medley, completing the 127-74 final score.
Pomona-Pitzer will be back in action tomorrow for a road meet at Cal Lutheran.
