GREENSBORO, N.C. — Pomona-Pitzer women's swim & dive featured a series of All-American performances Saturday as it wrapped up the NCAA Championships with an eighth place finish.
Valerie Mello started the evening finals session strong with a second-place and All-American finish in the 100-yard freestyle, racing a program record time of 49.50. Her mark bested the previous program best time of 49.56 set in 2022 by Alex Turvey.
Nina Aballea tied for seventh place with a 50.90, also earning All-American honors.
Francesca Coppo earned All-American honorable mention after placing 16th with a 51.05.
Izzy Yoon finished sixth in the 200-yard backstroke to also earn All-American honors. She raced a program record time of 1:59.63, besting her own record of 2:00.61 set earlier this season.
Emmie Appl also earned All-American honorable mention honors in the 200-yard breaststroke, racing a 2:17.13.
The Sagehens wrapped up the four-day competition with a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 3:20.64. Coppo, Aballea,
Charlotte Dixon and Mello made up the relay squad.
As a team, Pomona-Pitzer finished in eighth place overall, garnering a total of 201.5 points.
