Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her third season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Water Polo team, where she was a part of four SCIAC titles in four years (three outright, one shared)…Also competed one season on the Swimming and Diving team in the winter of 2011-12, in the distance freestyle events.

2015: SCIAC All-Academic team...ACWPC Superior All-Academic Award...Scored 13 goals on the year, while helping Pomona-Pitzer to a 19-10 record...Had two goals in a 7-5 overtime win over Division I George Washington...Also scored twice in a win over Concordia and in SCIAC wins over Occidental and Chapman.

2014: ACWPC Honorable Mention Division III All-America...Scored 27 goals on the year, fifth on the team...Had three goals in an 11-10 win over Concordia...Scored twice in a 7-4 SCIAC Championship game win over CMS...Also scored twice in a SCIAC semifinal win over Redlands...Tallied three goals in a regular season win over Chapman.

2013: Earned Excellent All-Academic status from the ACWPC...Scored 23 goals on the season...Had a key goal late in a 5-0 run over the last 4:30 to help the Sagehens rally from a 12-8 deficit to defeat Iona 13-12 in the seventh-place match at the NCAA Championships...Had a goal in a 10-7 win over Redlands in the SCIAC Championship match...Had hat tricks in wins over Chapman, Washington & Jefferson and Caltech...Scored twince in an 8-5 win Occidental.

2012: Scored 12 goals on the year, including a goal in the second half against Iona in the NCAA Tournament...Scored twice in a 7-5 loss to Cal State Monterey Bay...Also had two goals in a road win over Caltech...Had a goal in overtime of a 9-7 win over Cal Lutheran.

High School: Attended Clovis West High School in Fresno, where she competed on the swimming and water polo teams... Was a water polo team captain, leading her team to two valley championships, while earning second-team all-valley and all-league honors...Helped water polo to third place in the Northern California championships...Also helped the Eagles to four valley championships in swimming, including a 36-0 league record over her four seasons... Class valedictorian and member of the National Honor Society...CSF lifetime member...Scholar of Academic Distinction honoree...Also competed for the Clovis Swim Club and the Clovis Water Polo Club.

Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in philosophy, politics and economics, with a minor in chemistry...Has a particular interest in the role that politics plays in the medical field...Plans to attend medical school after graduation...Has one sister..."Asian Traditions", "Bioethics" and "NGOs and Transnational Politics" are the most interesting courses she has taken while at Pomona...Is a tutor with the Upward Bound program...Lists Remember the Titans as her favorite movie and Pride and Prejudice as her favorite book...Spent the summer of 2013 volunteering in a rural clinic in Guatemala and visiting family in Panama...Tutors high school students in the Upward Bound program at Pomona...Chose Pomona because "I loved the swimming and water polo teams as well as the atmosphere of the school and of course the great academics!"
