Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her senior as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Tennis team, where she was a two-time All-American.

2014: First-team All-SCIAC...All-American (doubles)...SCIAC All-Academic team...ITA Scholar-Athlete selection...Reached the national semifinals in doubles (with Lea Lynn Yen) at the NCAA Division III Championships and the Fall ITA Championships...Finished the year with a 10-14 record in singles and an 18-10 mark in doubles (23-11 including the fall)...Defeated the No. 1 seed (from Mary Washington) in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships...Won the Fall ITA West Regional doubles title with a 7-6, 7-6 win in the finals over CMS...Picked up singles and doubles wins against No. 6 Middlebury, No. 7 Bowdoin and No. 8 Carnegie Mellon, and went three sets against No. 2 Williams.

2013: Second-team All-SCIAC...All-American (doubles)...SCIAC All-Academic team...Had an 8-10 record in singles and a 15-10 mark in doubles...Began the year at No. 1 singles, but injury issues eventually moved her down to No. 3...Earned three singles wins against No. 11 Redlands (once in regular season finale to clinch second seed, once in SCIAC semis, once in NCAA West Region semifinals)...Earned three-set win against UC Santa Cruz (7-4 in a third-set tiebreaker)...Reached semifinals of Ojai Valley Tournament in doubles...Had an 8-3 doubles win against No. 3 Williams, the eventual Division III national champion...Earned a three-set doubles win over Coe in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Championships, earning All-America status.

2012: First-team All-SCIAC selection...ITA Scholar All-American...Went undefeated against Division III opponents in singles (15-0), with her only loss coming to a nationally ranked player from Division II Cal State Los Angeles at the Ojai Valley Championships...Played all year in the No. 2 spot, while missing several matches with an injury...Earned a pair of three-set wins at the NCAA West Regionals over Trinity (Texas) and CMS...Lost only one set during the regular season to a Division III opponent, in a three-set win over Carnegie Mellon...Was also 16-3 in doubles with partner Arthi Padmanabhan.

2011: Named an All-SCIAC second team selection as a freshman...Was 15-2 in singles, with one of her losses coming to a player from NAIA Concordia (Irvine) at the Ojai Championships...Only Division III loss was a non-league defeat to Chapman...Played mostly in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles spots...Began the spring 10-0 without a single set being any closer than 6-3.

High School: Attended Hong Kong International School, where she played on the tennis team for the Dragons…Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in neuroscience…Has a younger brother…Lists Andre Agassi as her favorite athlete…Favorite books are My Sister’s Keeper and Something Borrowed and favorite movie is Crazy, Stupid Love…Lists "Abnormal Psychology” as the most interesting course she has taken while at Pomona… Also teaches science to a fourth grade class at Mountain View Elementary School, one mile from Pomona College…Plans to work as an EMT after graduation while applying to medical school...Chose Pomona because “I wanted to be able to play competitive tennis while attending a strong academic school. Pomona offers a unique experience: small class sizes but the resources of a larger school because of the Claremont Consortium. Not only is the weather great, but professors are also very knowledgeable and accessible.”
