At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her first season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Tennis program…2013: Earned a 1-2 record in singles...Had a 6-0, 6-1 win over Occidental for her first collegiate win...Went to a tiebreaker in the second set in a loss against No. 9 Middlebury...High School: Attended Campbell Hall High School in North Hollywood, where she played on the tennis team and helped the Vikings to back-to-back championships in 2010 and 2011…Earned Coaches Choice Award in 2009…Class salutatorian…Earned Kenyon Book Award, the Campbell Hall Department Chair Award in Japanese, the school’s Athlete Scholar Award (for the highest GPA among student-athletes) and was a member of the cum laude society…Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she plans to major in either studio art (with a concentration in photography) or media studies…Has one brother…Hobbies include photography, Kendo, reading Manga, and watching anime…Favorite athletes are Rafael Nadal, Kei Nishikori, Andy Murray and Novak Djokovic…Favorite books include A Monster Calls (by Patrick Ness), Graceling (by Kristen Cashore), and Howl’s Moving Castle (by Diana Wynne Jones)…Favorite movies are Never Let Me Go and Spirited Away…Lists Tim Walker and Benazir Bhutto as the public figures she most admires…Chose Pomona because “When I was researching colleges, I came across Pomona and fell in love with the art and language classes, study abroad programs, and the tennis team. So I applied early decision to Pomona and was fortunate enough to be accepted.”
