Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women's Tennis team...2013: First-team All-SCIAC selection...SCIAC All-Academic team...Had a 12-11 record in singles and a 14-10 mark in doubles...Came back from a knee injury to return to her No. 1 spot in the singles lineup in midyear (after playing in the No. 3 spot on opening day)...Won 6-2, 6-4 in her first match back at No. 1 against 12th-ranked Washington (Mo.)...Had the clinching 6-4, 6-4 win in the NCAA West Regional semifinals vs. No. 11 Redlands after falling behind 0-4 in the first set...Had a big comeback win at No. 2 doubles in the West Regional finals against No. 2 CMS, winning 9-7 after trailing 7-4...Earned an 8-1 doubles win agaisnt No. 10 Bowdoin...Also won in doubles in a tiebreaker against No. 3 Williams, the eventual national champion...2012: First-team All-SCIAC selection...Played at No. 1 singles all year...Qualified for the NCAA Division III Singles Championships, but had to retire in the first round with a knee injury...Provided the winning point with a three-set win over Redlands in a 5-4 victory in the SCIAC semifinals...Also had singles wins over nationally ranked Vassar and UC Santa Cruz...2011: First-team All-SCIAC selection...Took the top ranked player in the nation, Kristin Lim of CMS, into three sets in the SCIAC Championship match...Began the year with eight straight wins at No. 1 singles before falling to NAIA Point Loma Nazarene...Finished season with 15-7 singles record...Was also 17-4 in doubles with partner Kara Wang (with three of the four losses coming to CMS, and the other coming to Point Loma Nazarene)...High School: Attended St. Stephen's Episcopal High School, where she was a member of the tennis team...Personal: Attending Pitzer College, where she majors in psychology with a minor in media studies...Hobbies include playing drums, watching TV and movies and making short films...Favorite athletes are David Ferrer, Gael Monfils, Pau Gasol and Missy Franklin...Favorite books are "The Art of Racing in the Rain" and "The Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time"...Favorite movies are Wedding Crashers and Juno...Lists "Intro to Cognitive Science" at Pomona taught by Professor Thornton as the most interesting course she has taken in college...Lists Beyonce as the public figure she most admires...Hopes to pursue a career in television after graduation.
