Pomona-Pitzer Athletics

Jorge Guillen-Lopez will be entering his second year on the Pomona-Pitzer coaching staff after spending four years as a starter for the Sagehens from 2019 to 2023, including serving as team captain during his senior season.

Guillen-Lopez is a first-generation college graduate who attended Pomona College and majored in Chicano/Latino Studies with a minor in History. A year later, he earned his Master’s in Education along with his teaching credentials from the University of California Riverside.

In addition to being an assistant coach, Guillen-Lopez is a full-time middle school teacher where he emphasizes responsibility, resilience, mentorship, and teamwork—values that also guide his work within the Sagehen program.

He is excited to continue contributing to the Sagehen soccer program while also growing and developing as a coach in his second year on the staff.
