Shawn Lokar

Shawn Lokar enters his 15th season as an assistant coach with the Pomona-Pitzer Men's Basketball program in 2025-26. Coach Lokar has helped the Sagehens to four regular season conference championships and three SCIAC Tournament titles during his time on the staff.

Prior to joining the Pomona-Pitzer staff, Lokar had experience coaching at both the high school and collegiate levels in Southern California. After graduating from the University of La Verne in 2005, Lokar spent one season as an assistant basketball coach at Pomona High School and one year as an assistant coach at San Dimas High School before joining his alma mater (ULV) as an assistant from 2007-09.

Lokar returned to San Dimas High School in 2009, where he spent two seasons before joining the Pomona-Pitzer staff in the fall of 2011.

Lokar was a four-year member of the basketball team at the Univ of La Verne, serving as a team captain in his senior season.  He also played on the ULV baseball team for one season, and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) for the Leopards.

Lokar holds a bachelor's degree from the Univ of La Verne in Movement and Sports Science, graduating summa cum laude. He also earned his master's degree in Kinesiology from Cal State Fullerton in 2007.
