Jason Staub is entering his sixth season as an assistant coach for the Pomona-Pitzer baseball program. Since joining the Sagehens in 2021, Staub has played an integral role in the team’s success, contributing to an impressive overall record of 155-14 (.665). During his tenure, Pomona-Pitzer has earned four NCAA Tournament appearances, highlighted by a historic 2024 season.
In 2024, the Sagehens achieved the best season in program history, finishing with a 37-14 record and earning their first-ever berth in the NCAA Division III College World Series. That same year, the team captured its first NCAA Regional and Super Regional titles. Under Staub’s guidance, the pitching staff has seen notable development, producing six All-Conference pitchers, four All-Region honorees, and one All-American. He also coached the 2024 SCIAC Pitcher of the Year, Jake Hilton.
In addition to his role as the baseball program’s pitching coach, Staub currently serves as the Interim Head Athletic Performance coach and priorr to that served as strength and conditioning coach for baseball, women’s basketball, and men’s tennis. Outside of Pomona-Pitzer, he is the Pitching Coach and Director of Strength and Conditioning at PFA Baseball in Montclair, California, where he works with collegiate and professional athletes.
Before joining Pomona-Pitzer, Staub gained experience as an assistant coach at Portland High School (CT) and with Team Connecticut Baseball. He also completed strength and conditioning internships at several NCAA programs, including Texas Christian University, Elon University, Springfield College, the University of Connecticut, Eastern Connecticut State University, and Quinnipiac University.
Staub was a four-year pitcher at Eastern Connecticut State University, where he helped lead the Warriors to a Little East Conference championship in 2016. He earned his master's degree in Strength and Conditioning from Springfield College in 2021.
