High School: Attended Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, California, where he was a member of the football, baseball and track and field teams...Helped his football team to a 9-3 record as a senior, including a North Coast Section semifinalist appearance, the furthest a Northgate team had ever advanced...Diablo Valley second-team all-league defensive lineman...Earned Northgate Best Defensive Lineman Award as a senior, when he was a two-way starter and served as a team captain...Qualified for the North Coast Sectionals in the shot put...An eight-time CIF/NCS Scholar-Athlete Award winner.
Personal: Attends Pomona College, where he majors in philosophy, politics and economics with a minor in English...Lists "Political Economy of Development" as the most interesting course he has taken at Pomona so far...Has one brother and one sister...Favorite book is East of Eden, and favorite movies are Remember the Titans and Crash...Chose Pomona for "the academics, close knit community of the student body, overall atmosphere, and how the professors get to know students."
