For Tina, "Running is enjoyable to me because it is almost a form of meditation. It allows me to focus more easily on one thing when normally being a student means I have lots of distractions and things to worry about. I can choose to focus on my breathing, my form, my company and our conversations, or my surroundings (which is my favorite, coming from a high school team that practiced on the mountain trails every day). I also believe running is the cure to stress, so it comes in handy during the academic year."

Tina enjoys the Pomona-Pitzer women's cross country team because "it is a great way to widen my social group and meet upperclassmen who are welcoming, funny, knowledgeable, helpful, and just plain fun to be around. I also feel like I am more a part of the Pomona community by being on PPXC; I get to be a team member and not solely one of the many freshmen."
