Biography

At Pomona-Pitzer: Completed her Senior season as a member of the Pomona-Pitzer Women’s Water Polo team, where she was both a goalie and a utility player...Helped the Sagehens to four SCIAC titles in four years (three outright, one shared).

2015: SCIAC All-Academic team...Earned ACWPC All-Academic Outstanding Distinction...Scored 10 goals and had 51 saves in nine games as a goalie...Had four goals in three games in the SCIAC Tournament, including two in a semifinal win over Chapman...Also scored in a 7-6 loss to Whittier in the finals...Had a hat trick in a SCIAC win over Caltech.

2014: SCIAC All-Academic team...SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week (all sports) on April 29...Began the season as a field player but filled in at goalie in the second half of the season while freshman Ahsha Earwood was injured...Finished the year with eight goals and 124 saves in 15 matches in goal...Had 13 saves in an 8-7 overtime win over CMS in the regular season finale, which clinched the top seed in the SCIAC Tournament...Earned SCIAC Athlete of the Week honors after her performance in the SCIAC Tournament, when she gave up only nine goals in three matches, including three in a 7-4 win over CMS in the title game…Scored twice in a win over CSU San Bernardino...Had a goal in an 8-7 win over Redlands and another in an 11-9 win over Bucknell.

2013: SCIAC All-Academic team...Earned Outstanding (highest level) All-Academic status from the ACWPC...Played in four matches in goal, tallying 14 saves, before converting to the field and scoring 11 goals...Had a dramatic goal to end the season, beating the buzzer to defeat Iona 13-12 in the seventh-place match at the NCAA Championships...Also had a goal against No. 12 UC San Diego in the second round...Scored in the regular season finale against CMS, when the Sagehens handed the Athenas their first conference loss...Scored twice against Chapman in the opening round of the SCIAC Tournament.

2012: Tallied 39 saves on the year, including seven in the second half against Stanford in the first round of the NCAA Tournament after growing up in Palo Alto...Also scored a goal as a field player in a loss to Cal State Monterey Bay.

High School: Attended Castilleja School in Palo Alto, where she competed on the water polo and swimming teams for the Gators…Was a second-team All-CIF selection, and an honorable mention All-Peninsula Athletic League Bay Division honoree…Named a 2010-11 Water Polo Academic All-American…Helped the Gators to a second-place finish in the CCS in 2008 and 2010 seasons, where she lost to current Pomona-Pitzer teammate Sarah Westcott’s team both times…A National Merit Commended Scholar and a 2010 Castilleja Theoretical Math Award recipient…Also competed for the Stanford Club team.

Personal: Attending Pomona College, where she majors in mathematics with a minor in physics…Lists "Deterministic Operations Research", "The Fantastic" and "Electronics" as the most interesting courses she has taken at Pomona...Has two sisters…Hobbies include the guitar, tap dancing, surfing and anything that involves water…Brenda Villa and Jessica Steffens are her favorite athletes…Favorite books are Hunger Games and The Great Gatsby, while favorite movies include Finding Nemo, What About Bob? and Blue Crush…Lists Henry Clay and Jack Johnson as the public figures she most admires…Spent the summer of 2014 solving math problems for Disney and worked for some of the people who worked on the snow in Frozen...Spent the summer of 2013 in the south of France...Member of the tap dancing club at Pomona...Chose Pomona “for the strong academics, great professors, and overall feel of the campus.  Everyone here is so interesting and welcoming, which creates a great environment to thrive in.”
