CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer football team fell to CMS 22-10 in the 2026 Sixth Street Rivalry on Saturday night at Merritt Field.  With the loss, the Sagehens fall to 1-2 overall and open SCIAC play with a loss.

Rodenbaugh led the way with 45 yards on 10 attempts, while Grady Russo added 47 yards on seven carries. Brennan Dragomer was the most complete contributor with 55 rushing yards and a team-high seven receptions for 60 yards.

Through the air, the Sagehens utilized two quarterbacks. Dominick Catalano completed 13 of 22 passes for 105 yards in the second half, and Russo went 5-of-8 for 30 yards.

On the receiving end, Joaquin Valdez hauled in two catches for 18 yards and Jackson Irons added two receptions for 15 yards.

For the defense, linebacker Leo Ryals led the Sagehens defensively with 11 total tackles, including six solos. Alden Kling recorded four tackles for loss, two sacks and a forced fumble While Cole Krawiec finished with nine total tackles, including three solos.

CMS set the tone early with a 38-yard field goal before the Stags punched in a 2-yard touchdown run to take a 10-0 lead after one quarter. Lee added a 25-yard field goal to push the margin to 13-0 entering the second quarter, aided by a fumble on a kickoff return that gave CMS possession at the Sagehens' 18-yard line.

Pomona-Pitzer answered with a sustained drive in the second quarter but could not find the end zone. Kicker Aidan Streidl connected on a 20-yard field goal to put the Sagehens on the board at 13-3. The Sagehens reached the CMS 30 on their next possession but were turned away on downs, and the teams headed into the locker room with CMS leading 13-3.

CMS and Lee added a third field goal in the third quarter to push the lead to 16-3. The Sagehens responded with their best drive of the game: an 11-play, 76-yard march capped by Rodenbaugh's 1-yard touchdown run with 41 seconds remaining in the third quarter. Streidl's extra point pulled Pomona-Pitzer within 16-10 heading into the final quarter.

The Sagehens, however, could not complete the comeback. CMS drilled back-to-back fourth-quarter kicks from 46 and 40 yards to account for all of the Stags' second-half scoring and seal the 22-10 final.
