CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens women's tennis team secured a 4-0 victory over Redlands on Thursday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex to advance in the SCIAC Championships.

Season Impact: The wins put the Sagehens at 10-7 on the season and 6-1 in conference play.

The Sagehens took control early by winning two of the three doubles matches to claim the doubles point. Annique Varty and Ishya Bhavsar earned a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Tessa Ellingson and Aditi Gulati followed with a 6-4 win at No. 3. The No. 1 doubles match featuring Leticia Bazua Vazquez and Lauren Rha was left unfinished with the Sagehens leading.

With a 1-0 advantage, Pomona-Pitzer carried momentum into singles play and quickly secured the remaining points needed to clinch the match. Meha Chaudhary delivered a dominant 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles, while Sofia Kalyva followed with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 5. The decisive point came from Mireille Chedid-Daley at No. 3, who controlled her match in a 6-4, 6-1 performance. Several other singles matches, including those featuring Rha and Bazua Vazquez, were left unfinished once Pomona-Pitzer reached four team points. With the win, the Sagehens advance to the SCIAC Championships.
