CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Sagehens delivered a dominant 7-0 victory over Caltech on Saturday afternoon at the Pauley Tennis Complex.
Season Impact: The wins put the Sagehens at 13-11 on the season and 6-0 in conference play.
The Sagehens opened the match by sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the doubles point. Sam English and Neil Chulani were first to finish with a 6-2 win at No. 3, followed by Leo Rocca and Kiran Vairavanathan with a 6-4 victory at No. 2. Drew Goldman and Jay Mallampati capped the sweep with a 7-6 win at No. 1.
In singles play, the Sagehens continued their dominance, winning all six matches in straight sets to complete the shutout. Goldman led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 win, while Rocca battled to a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 victory at No. 2. John Wehrle added a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3, and Tanner Ige secured a 7-5, 7-5 victory at No. 4. Valor Dare earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 5, and Luke Feng ended with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 6.
