FREDERICKSBURG, VA. – The No. 15 Pomona-Pitzer Men's Tennis team fell to host Mary Washington 4-1 to end the UMW Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the Hegmann Family Courts.
The Sagehens got their point by winning the doubles competition with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Drew Goldman and
Jay Mallampati earned a 7-5 win at the No. 1 position while
Tanner Ige and
Neil Chulani won 6-2 at the No. 3 spot to earn the doubles point.
The Sagehens unfortunately would fall in the first four singles matches to give Mary Washington the win.
Leo Rocca Fell at the No. 2 position, 6-1, 6-3,
Ethan Zou lost his singles match at the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-0, Chulani fell at the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-2 and
John Wehrle fell in a three-set battle 6-4, 5-7, 4-6 to give Mary Washington the win.
