FREDERICKSBURG, VA. – The Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens men's tennis team fell 4-2 to #7 Johns Hopkins then won against #14 Emory 4-1 in the UMW Invitational on Friday.
Season Impact: The wins put the Sagehens at 11-10 on the season and 4-0 in conference play.

PP: 2, Johns Hopkins: 4
Johns Hopkins took the early advantage by sweeping all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point.
In singles, the Sagehens picked up two points but could not close the gap. Drew Goldman led the way at No. 1 singles with a strong 6-2, 6-3 victory, while Tanner Ige added another point with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4. Johns Hopkins secured wins at No. 2, No. 3, and No. 5 singles to reach four team points and win the match.

The Sagehens defeated #14 Emory 4-1 in the second game of the UMW Invitational. The Sagehens claimed the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Leo Rocca and Kiran Vairavanathan battled to a 7-6 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Tanner Ige and Neil Chulani secured a 6-4 win at No. 3. Emory picked up a 6-3 win at No. 1 doubles.
With a 1-0 lead, the Sagehens carried momentum into singles play, winning three matches to clinch the team result. Drew Goldman led the way at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory, while Rocca followed with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2. Ige delivered a strong performance at No. 4, earning a 7-6, 7-6 victory to secure the match. Emory's lone completed singles win came at No. 3.
