CLAREMONT, CA. – The Sagehens fell 9-0 in game one and won 1-0 in game two in extra innings against Williams College.

Game One
Sagehens 0, Williams 9
The Sagehens as a team only notched three hits on the game. One coming from Yuri Song, Natalie Murguia, and Gianna Phillips. Audrey Reimers started in the circle for the Sagehens pitching 3.2 innings and Nyla Springer pitched an inning after. Mia Lopez pitched for the final 0.1 inning.
Williams struck first in the opening inning, using a double and a sacrifice bunt to set up an RBI double and take a 1–0 lead. The Sagehens threatened early with a leadoff hit from Yuri Song, but were unable to bring her home. The game shifted in the fourth inning, when Williams broke it open with a five-run frame. A series of walks, RBI hits, and a key two-run double extended the lead to 6–0. Pomona-Pitzer looked to respond in the bottom half with back-to-back singles from Natalie Murguia and Gianna Phillips, but the rally was cut short. Williams added three more runs in the fifth inning, capitalizing on timely hitting and a wild pitch to push the advantage to 9–0. From there, the Sagehens were unable to generate offense, as Williams pitching shut them down the rest of the way to secure the 9–0 mercy-rule victory.
Game Two
Sagehens 1, Williams 0
The Sagehens were led by Sadie Huryn who was the only Sagehen with more than one hit in the game. Kylie Liu and Yuri Song each had one hit each. Marie Milton drove in the only run on the game int he bottom of the ninth inning with a walk-off sacrifice fly. In the circle, the Sagehens were dominant. Mia Lopez set the tone with 6.1 shutout innings allowing just four hits and striking out four. Ava Bautista closed the game with 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out two and securing the win.
The Ephs threatened early, putting runners in scoring position in the first inning, but the Sagehens escaped the jam to keep the game scoreless. Both teams settled into a defensive battle over the next several innings, with neither side able to capitalize despite scattered hits and opportunities. The Sagehens had chances throughout, including multiple baserunners in the second and fifth innings, but were unable to break through against the Williams pitching staff. Meanwhile, Pomona-Pitzer's pitchers matched that effort, stranding runners and keeping Williams off the scoreboard through seven innings to force extras. In extra innings, both teams continued to trade scoreless frames. Finally, in the bottom of the ninth, the Sagehens broke through. After moving the placed runner to third, Milton delivered a sacrifice fly to bring home Sefkow for the walk-off run, securing a 1–0 victory.
