Baseball Falls to Bridgewater College

CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer baseball fell to Bridgewater College 12-4 Sunday afternoon at Alumni Field. 
 
Season Impact: The result puts the Sagehens at 10-5 on the season, including 2-1 in SCIAC play. 
 
Jack Gold, James Quintero and Nolan Winthrop each posted an RBI to lead the Sagehen offense. Devin Saltzgraber was credited with the loss from the mound despite going 3.0 innings with three strikeouts. 
 
Bridgewater scored the game's first six runs with two in the second and four in the third. DeGrazia scored in the fourth off a Quintero error before Savas crossed home on a Winthrop RBI. But the Eagles scored six more runs by the seventh to go up 12-2. 
 
Gold notched an RBI single to right in the bottom of the seventh. Kai Gonzaga later scored to bring the Sagehens within eight, 12-4. But Bridgewater eventually held on for the 12-4 win. 
 
Up Next: Pomona-Pitzer will resume SCIAC play with a three-game series against Redlands this weekend, first traveling to take on the Bulldogs on Friday, Mar. 6, at 2:00 p.m. PT.
