CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's basketball fell 66-49 to Chapman Saturday afternoon at home.
Season Impact: The result puts the Sagehens at 13-8 on the season, including 8-4 in SCIAC play.
Jadyn Lee and
Emily Lee led the team offensively with 15 points apiece, while
Abigail Homan posted eight points and six rebounds.
Shea Joko contributed four points and four rebounds and
Sara Chicco posted three points and three boards.
The Sagehens led 10-9 midway through the opening period following a Homan free throw. But the Panthers used an 11-1 run to end the period and take a 20-11 advantage. The Sagehens fought their way within two, 20-18, after a J. Lee three and a pair of E. Lee free throws. J. Lee put in a fast break layup, and Pomona-Pitzer trailed by just two, 26-24 at the half.
The Panthers extended their lead to 12, 36-24, three minutes into the third quarter before J. Lee scored in the paint. E. Lee hit a three towards the end of the period but the Sagehens trailed, 47-34, heading into the fourth. E. Lee hit a pair of threes towards the end of the fourth, and
Anna Revill added a jumper, but Pomona-Pitzer fell 66-49.
