CLAREMONT, Calif. — Pomona-Pitzer women's basketball fell 59-54 at CMS Thursday in the SCIAC Semifinals.
Season Impact: The result brings the Sagehens' overall record in 2025-26 to 16-10, including 11-5 in SCIAC play.
Jadyn Lee led all scorers with 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting to go with 10 rebounds and six assists.
Emily Lee added 10 points and five boards while
Sofia Robel contributed seven points and seven rebounds.
Abigail Homan and
Sara Chicco each posted five points.
After trailing 13-6 midway through the opening quarter, the Sagehens fought their way back with a pair of baskets from Robel and a jumper from J. Lee to take a 17-13 lead. Pomona-Pitzer opened the second quarter on a 14-0 run to go up 16, 31-15. J. Lee and Chicco traded triples to cap the run. Homan added a pair of free throws as the Sagehens led 34-24 at the half.
CMS opened the third quarter with a 14-0 run of its own to take a 38-34 advantage before J. Lee scored in the paint. Teams then traded baskets, as a Chicco layup brought the Sagehens within two, 42-40, at the end of the third.
Playing from behind throughout much of the fourth quarter, J. Lee hit a pair from the charity stripe to bring the Sagehens within one, 51-50. E. Lee scored a layup and J. Lee added another pair of free throws to bring Pomona-Pitzer within a point, 55-54, with 1:42 remaining. But the Athenas scored a layup on their ensuing offensive possession, and the Sagehens couldn't quite convert on theirs. CMS added two free throws late to seal its 59-54 win.
