THOUSAND OAKS, CA. — Pomona-Pitzer women's basketball falls to Cal Lutheran 60-73 on the road.

Season Impact: The loss puts the Sagehens at 13-8 on the season, including 10-5 in SCIAC play.

Molly Pieper led the Sagehens scoring a career-high 18-point, seven-rebound effort off the bench, shooting 6-of-7 from the field and 6-of-7 at the line. Abigail Homan added 11 points, while Jadyn Lee filled the stat sheet with 10 points and five steals to pace Pomona-Pitzer's 60-point performance.

Cal Lutheran came out hot from beyond the arc, knocking down five first-quarter threes to build an early double-digit lead. J. Lee paced the Sagehens with eight early points, and Pieper added a late layup, but the Sagehens trailed 27-10 after one. Cal Lutheran stretched its lead early in the second quarter before the Sagehens responded with defensive pressure and timely shooting. Sara Chicco knocked down a pair of threes, Homan added a three-point play and free throws, and Pieper converted late free throws to cap a 16-point quarter for Sagehens. The Sagehens cut the deficit to single digits at halftime, trailing 34-26.

Cal Lutheran opened the third quarter with a barrage from deep, hitting four threes in the first three minutes to stretch the lead to 45-28. Homan's fastbreak three and J. Lee's defensive steals briefly sparked the Sagehens, but the Regals continued to control the paint and the perimeter. Cal Lutheran outscored the Sagehens 29-13 in the quarter to take a commanding 63-39 lead into the fourth. The Sagehens opened the fourth and Pieper powered the offense down the stretch, scoring repeatedly in the paint and converting key free throws as the Sagehens cut the margin to 13. Cal Lutheran answered at the line and held off the late push, securing the 73-60 win.
